Anderson rejected a lucrative renewal offer from Lazio to pursue his goal of returning to the Brazilian national team through Palmeiras. Pereira highlighted the club’s credibility and success as key factors attracting top talent: “My athletes trust the president; they know I do what’s best for Palmeiras and I will honor my commitments. This makes athletes want to come and play here with us.”

At Gabigol

Despite rumors, Pereira firmly denied any pursuit of Flamengo’s striker Gabigol, clarifying, “Regarding Gabigol, there is absolutely no negotiation. That would be harassment, which I would never engage in.” Gabigol is currently appealing a two-year doping suspension at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Pereira also expressed a strong desire to maintain her current squad, stressing, “My big dream is to stay with the athletes I have today. Our greatest strength is their permanence. This is my big dream, to keep them for as long as possible. “
