Addressing Jesus’s scoring slump, former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger weighed in. “There are more goals in him than what you see at the moment,” Wenger said in an Instagram chat with Freddie Ljungberg.

He attributed Jesus’s scoring issues to frequent injuries, underlining the importance of consistent game time for top players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Wenger noted that Jesus has missed 31 games due to injuries, including a significant knee injury during the World Cup in Qatar. Despite these setbacks, Wenger believes Jesus can still fulfill his potential at Arsenal by maintaining fitness and consistency on the field.

Jesus began his Arsenal tenure strongly, scoring six goals and providing three assists in his first nine league matches. His performance initially boosted Arsenal’s title hopes. Yet, his scoring pace dropped, adding only six more goals for the rest of the season.
