Andreas Pereira identified Angel Di Maria as the biggest disappointment during his time at Manchester United in an interview on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel FIVE.

Pereira, who failed to secure a regular starting position over his 11-year stint, spoke about the high expectations placed on Di Maria and his struggle to meet them.

“From the first session, he was unbelievable,” Pereira recalled. “He arrived from the Champions League final, being the best player, and everyone thought we would win the league. Then you know what happened. It was crazy. He didn’t adapt.”

Is this true?

Angel Di Maria transferred to Manchester United from Real Madrid in August 2014 for a British record fee of £59.7 million. In his one season at Old Trafford, the Argentine winger played 32 matches across all competitions, scoring 4 goals and adding 12 assists.

His highlight was a chip against Leicester City in 2015 that won the Premier League Goal of the Month for September.

However, Di Maria struggled to adapt to the Premier League, facing both on-field challenges and personal issues. He moved to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2015, ending his brief stint in the Premier League.

Remembering Zagallo
