Arriving for €80M this summer, the Brazilian winger would only be worth €35M according to Transfermarkt after a difficult debut in the Mancunian jersey

The difficult season that Antony is experiencing in the Manchester United jersey is directly reflected in his estimated value on the transfer market. According to data from Transfermarkt, a specialist in player evaluation, the Brazilian is now only worth 35 million euros, a significant discount compared to the 80 million invested in him last summer by the Mancunian club.

This clear decline now places Antony in eighth position only among the most bankable United players, tied with defender Diogo Dalot. Yet presented as the big star of the Red Devils transfer window, the 25-year-old winger has still not opened his goals and assists counter in the Premier League this season. He is clearly struggling to integrate into the collective set up by his former coach at Ajax Erik ten Hag.

Support from Erik ten Hag

The latter nevertheless remains confident about the qualities of his Brazilian compatriot. He reminds us that playing in a big league like Manchester United involves very high expectations, but that it is the “best challenge” for a player. Ten Hag hopes to see Antony hatch soon and justify the investment made in him.

More efficient since the start of the 2022-2023 financial year, other summer recruits like Lisandro Martinez (€43M), Christian Eriksen (€38.7M) or Casemiro (€25.8M) maintain a value close to or higher than their transfer compensation. Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, both worth €60.1 million, take first place in the ranking of the most “bankable” Mancunians. It is now up to Antony to bounce back to regain sporting and financial credibility.
