West Ham and England midfielder Declan Rice has made a name for himself by shackling some of the best attackers in the Premier League, but on this occasion, it was Rice on the end of a shackling- or a clamping, more accurately.

Rice and Noble make quite the team in the Hammers midfield and this occasion is no different, with Nobes setting up his younger teammate- but not in the way that Manuel Pellegrini wants them to on a Saturday!

The 20-year old is innocently enjoying a game of FIFA with a teammate as he shapes up for a shoot with Betway, but the shoot takes an unexpected and hilarious twist courtesy of a visit from his skipper Mark Noble.

Nobes has a surprise for his younger teammate in the shape of an unsolicited ticket inspection for his plush Range Rover. Declan spots there is something awry when an attendant eyes up the motor and starts writing out a ticket, much to Rice’s visible annoyance.

The midfielder becomes miffed with the attendant and the sight of a clamp on his car, but little does Rice know the prank is only just beginning- much to the amusement of his captain watching on from a booth.

The parking attendant, played by an actor, suddenly becomes aware of who he is clamping, leaving a nonplussed Rice to spit, “Yes I am Declan Rice and you just clamped me for no reason!” Leaving the inspector to gush about what a big West Ham and England fan he is.

Declan’s mood drops when the inspector asks Rice for a selfie, a request that is refused in no uncertain terms! With Mark Noble directing the action via an earpiece to the supposed inspector, tensions begin to ramp up even further.

The attendant eggs Rice on- so to speak- by bargaining with the England international that he may be able to remove the clamp- in return for a phone call to a West Ham supporting friend. The situation escalates when Declan’s PA takes matters into his own hands and removes the clamp, forcing the attendant into a serious phone call with his ‘manager’- who Rice may recognise. Though he does crack a smile when his teammate is referred to as “Declan’s PA” by the attendant.

As the tow truck edges closer to Rice’s car, Noble emerges from the back to Rice’s surprise, annoyance and slight relief! Once the prank is revealed, Declan is far more amenable to that “parking attendant” selfie!

With that, Rice’s Betway duties are over for the afternoon and, thankfully for him, he is free to drive home without needing to stop by the pound. The next time Betway ask him to do a promotional video, he might think about asking his skipper for a lift!
