Spurs forward Lucas Moura says he is more than happy for Tottenham to have played some of Europe’s biggest names during pre-season.
Tottenham won the Audi Cup after playing the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich without defeat.
The Brazilian says such examinations will stand them in good stead for a demanding season ahead.
“It’s very important to work hard in pre-season,” said the former PSG attacker. “Games like this make us ready for the season because the year will be very hard.
“It was two hard days, two hard games and I'm very happy to get my first trophy with Tottenham!
“That is my objective always – to be a champion – and we will work hard this season to have more trophies. I think we are doing a good job and are almost ready for the season.”
Moura was also impressed by some of Tottenham’s academy talent during a gruelling pre- season schedule.
“That's very important for us. They have a lot of quality and personality. I'm sure that they have a great future.”
