Coutinho Dreaming of Barcelona v Liverpool Champions League Final
Philippe Coutinho will travel to Old Trafford as a Barcelona player for the first time this week, as Barca face Manchester United in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Coutinho joined Barca from Liverpool for £114m just over a year ago and the Brazilian is relishing his first game back in England since leaving the Premier League.
Coutinho says he would love to meet Liverpool in this year’s competition, but, though he would relish a return to Anfield, the player says he’d prefer to meet his former team in the final in Madrid.
“I know that Liverpool supporters will be with us at United,” he said. “But they know that later we could see them at Anfield and then, of course, I will be there with Barcelona wanting to win.
“It would be a dream to play at Anfield again, an explosion of different feelings, I’m sure. But I have to be honest and say I would have preferred to meet Liverpool only in the final itself.”
