Liverpool midfielder Fabinho says that winning the Premier League will, on balance, probably prove a harder task than winning the Champions League.

The Reds are 1 point clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League having played a game more, with a Champions League quarter-final against FC Porto on the horizon.

The Brazilian says both tasks will be incredibly tough, but that the domestic task might prove marginally more difficult.

“It's a difficult question, but I think at the moment the Premier League is more difficult because we do not depend on us anymore. We are a point clear, but I believe it is the most difficult.

“It is the most difficult championship in the world, no team makes it easy. It does not mean that the Champions League is easy, but it is that we depend on it alone.”

On the Champions League, Fabinho recalls some tough encounters against Porto when he played for Monaco last season.

“I followed the draw here at home alone, were good confrontations. I played against Porto last year, I think the base is still the same, they have some really good players.”
