‘We Cannot Relax’ Says Marquinhos Ahead of Manchester United Tie
Paris Saint Germain defender Marquinhos has warned his teammates that they cannot relax as they prepare for Wednesday’s Champions League last 16 second leg against Manchester United.
PSG hold a 2-0 lead from the first leg, meaning United have to win 3-0 at Parc des Princes to go through. The visitors will also be missing Paul Pogba, who is suspended after being red carded in the first leg.
But Marquinhos, who was outstanding in midfield at Old Trafford, says the job is only half done, “We are at half-time, we still have to finish the job at home. We will have to do exactly the same thing that we did over there, with the same intensity, the same attitude.
“Manchester United are Manchester United. The players who are on the pitch will be players of quality, great players. We cannot relax and think that it will be easier because they have injuries. We will have to start the match with a good intensity and a good attitude.”
