Chelsea defender David Luiz is relishing the club’s pre-season tour of Asia, as the club fly to China for some high profile friendlies. Luiz missed the Blues’ 2011 and 2013 tours to the region due to international commitments, but has played in Asia before.

Chelsea will play Arsenal in Beijing and matches against Bayern Munich and Inter in Singapore. The 31 year old cannot wait to see the Blues’ fans in the Far East, telling Chelsea.com, "I love to be there because the fans show a lot of their love when we come out to play.

"I’ve been to Asia a few times and every time it’s a pleasure for me to be there and to play in front of the fans. We always have full stadiums and they give us a lot of support and show us that they love football.

"So we always try our best to give something back to them. The love they give to us, we try to give it back." Luiz played for Brazil in China back in 2014, alongside teammate Willian and is looking forward to repeating the experience.

"It was nice to play there for Brazil in 2014, although we didn’t have too much time to enjoy the cities and to learn more about their culture. What I did enjoy was seeing the stadium and the fans, because it is good to see that on the other side of the world, people also love you.

"I was born in Brazil in a different culture and where many things are different [from Asia], but when I arrived there, there were so many people who wanted to take pictures with us, to get our autographs and to be with us, and that touched my heart. That’s why I play football, I play for them."
