Brazilian winger Douglas Costa told reporters that he was “delighted” to be joining Juventus after his unveiling in Turin today. He joins on a one year loan deal for around €6m with a €40m obligation to buy next summer.

Costa has been linked with an exit from Bayern for some months and Munich signed off on the transfer once they had secured James Rodriguez from Real Madrid on a two year loan deal.

Costa told the press that he was delighted to be joining last season’s Champions League finalists, “I’m delighted to sign for Juventus and be part of this great club,” he said.

“I want to thank the club for all the effort they put into signing me. I am really pleased to be part of it. This is a great club and I always dreamed of playing here. I can’t wait to start training with my new teammates.

“I enjoyed my time at Bayern and we achieved a lot, but I am sure I can achieve even more at Juventus. I have come from a club that is used to winning every game we play, so I will continue with that mentality here.”
