Iranian agent Kia Joorabchian, a former partner of Corinthians, and Giuliano Bertolucci, one of the most influential Brazilian agents in Europe, are working for the future of four starters in Rogério Micale’s Brazilian Olympic team.
Defender Marquinhos and attacking midfielder Felipe Anderson are the only players directly represented by Giuliano Bertolucci and Kia Joorabchian. The agents had an important role in convincing Paris Saint-Germain and Lazio, respectively, to release the players for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Bertolucci had conducted talks with Barcelona for Marquinhos, but Paris Saint-Germain are not interested in parting ways with the young defender. As reported by ESPN Brasil, to release Felipe Anderson for the Olympics, Lazio president Lotito wanted Kia Joorabchian to make a promise that he will bring a €28 million proposal after the competition.
Santos midfielder Thiago Maia, who’s a close friend of Marquinhos, does not have an agent since he ended his partnership with Juan Figer, but has authorized Bertolucci and Kia to seek proposals in Europe. One of the clubs consulted by the agents was Paris Saint-Germain, but the 19-year-old is without a European passport. According to Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola, Kia wanted to meet the Santos player to know if he intends to play for Premier League side Chelsea.
Giuliano Bertolucci, who works with Kia Joorabchian in several businesses, was chosen to represent Italian club Inter Milan in the negotiations for Santos striker Gabigol. Bertolucci had a meeting with Gabigol’s father and agent Wagner Ribeiro on Monday where Inter Milan representative Piero Ausilio presented the club’s offer.
