Italian club Lazio are in talks to sign Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato from Corinthians and defender Rodrigo Caio from São Paulo.
Corinthians accepts that they cannot recoup the €15 million invested in Alexandre Pato in March 2013. As it’s very unlikely that the club would receive a proposal close to this amount, the proposal from Lazio looks tempting. Pato and Corinthians have an agreement that, if there’s an offer from Europe, the club will release him, provided, the values meet the interests of both parties. According to Italian press, Lazio are ready to pay €5 million for Pato, who was on loan at Premier League side Chelsea until the end of last month. Meanwhile, a representative of Lazio is in Brazil to present an offer of €10 million, plus €2 million in bonuses for São Paulo defender Rodrigo Caio. According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, São Paulo are asking a fee in the region of €20million for the player, but Lazio are hoping to negotiate the price down.
