Malcom returned to Brazil almost two months following his transfer to French side Bordeaux after winning the Brazilian Championship with Corinthians.
The former Corinthians man was called up to Brazil"s Olympic national team for two friendlies against Nigeria and South Africa. Malcom was a starter in the 3-1 victory over South Africa in Maceió, but had a quiet performance. He said: “There the adaptation is being good. The Brazilians in my team [Pablo, former Ponte Preta defender and Jussiê, former Cruzeiro striker] are helping me a lot. Also, I found two Brazilians in Bordeaux who became friends and also help me."
Malcom revealed that he still needs to adapt to the new language, and that he studies French three times a week. He added: “I only lack adaptation to speak. I understand, but just a little. Before coming to Brazil, I was taking three French lessons per week for adaptation. I need to learn to speak quickly and to communicate with teammates and the coach."
