Particularly over the last ten to fifteen years Chelsea have gathered a huge following across the globe which has coincided with their rise in prominence as elite super-club. nb. Just don’t look at the Premier League table right now for confirmation.

However, the four time Premier League Champions also attracted a new fan, that may be a little more familiar to Chelsea fans now.

Brazilian attacking midfielder Kenedy admitted he used to play as The Blues in his video games and now finds himself playing alongside them in real life, too.

"Ever since i was a child, I dreamed about playing for Chelsea. And I left [Brazil] for a big challenge, that is to play in the Premier League."

"You play in video games, you see those beautiful stadiums and crowds. Especially Chelsea’s that is quite beautiful. And when you step on a pitch like that for the first time, you get goosebumps."

He continued to say that he is still in shock at times when he remembers who he is now sharing a work-place with.

"Sometimes I stop and think…’Holy S***, today I’m playing next to John Terry when I was playing with him in my video game only a while ago."

Despite coming in to the club as right winger, Jose Mourinho has decided to experiment with the teenager in a number of positions.

"[Jose Mourinho] tested me as a centre back and as a full back, and I played there. For me, what matters is to be able to play, no matter the position."

The Brazilian is still just 19 years old and having only made six appearances so far this campaign he is still raw and developing the consistent and clinical impact he needs to become a regular.

Nonethless, he has brought enthusiasm and a directness that has so far been missing at Chelsea this season which has endeared himself to his new fans.
