The return of former number 10 Paulo Henrique Ganso to the Vila Belmiro may happen in 2016, as it"s kind of an obsession of club president Modesto Roma.
According to UOL Esporte, Santos president Modesto Roma has already made contacts with Giuseppe Dioguardi, the representative of Paulo Henrique Ganso. The player also has a great relationship with the former club president Marcelo Teixeira, a positive factor in the negotiations. Santos are preparing to buy Ganso on a permanent deal, and has even consulted investors to fund the business. Another positive factor is that the current board of Santos has a good relationship with DIS, the group which owns 68% of Ganso"s economic rights. It"s worth mentioning that the “enemies" of the player and Santos" current board are the same; ex-presidents Luís Álvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro and Odílio Rodrigues. Ganso left Santos for rivals São Paulo [holds 32% rights] in 2012 and was accused of being a mercenary by Santos fans for demanding salary increase publicly on several occasions, despite his recurring injuries. Ganso is considered to be the ideal player to fill a possible absence of Lucas Lima who could make his move to Europe in the upcoming transfer window. However, the intention of the club is to keep Lucas Lima at least until mid-2016, and does not rule out the possibility of having the two players next year.
