Corinthians midfielder Renato Augusto couldn"t contain his excitement when asked about his selection to Dunga"s Brazil squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Venezuela,
Renato Augusto is one of the three players from Timão to be picked by Dunga for next month"s fixtures at Santiago and Fortaleza. Very tired following the club"s 2-1 defeat to Internacional at Porto Alegre on Wednesday night, Renato was sleeping when his phone kept ringing. He was quoted in Globo Esporte: “I was asleep. My phone kept ringing, and then I saw that I"ve been called up. My mother called crying, others called crying. Those people in my daily life know how much I suffered to be here today. I gave up a lot. And do special works [at Corinthians due to excessive injury issues], a little more than everyone else. I see I"m going the right way, and this shows that my willpower has paid off."
He added: “Now I come in a moment which is even more special. The last time I was called up, I had a good season in Germany [Bayer Leverkusen], but now I"ve reached my peak technically and physically."
