Copa América winner Charles Aránguiz is on the verge of signing for Bayer Leverkusen, the Bundesliga side have confirmed.
Aránguiz helped Chile to their first ever Copa América title, secured with last month’s penalty shoot-out defeat of Argentina in the final in Santiago. According to Globo Esporte, Aránguiz joins Leverkusen in a five-year deal worth an estimated €13 million. Leverkusen CEO Michael Schade said: “We’ve reached agreement with the president of Internacional. There are only the final details to sort out. Our perseverance has paid off. Charles Aránguiz is a super player, I’m certain he’s going to help the team.”
