Atlético Mineiro full-back Marcos Rocha says his side will not be prioritising the their league title tilt over a defence of their Copa do Brasil crown this year, as yesterday’s round of 16 draw paired them with Figueirense.

Galo are currently in first place in league, two points clear of Corinthians with 35 points, but the Brazil international says that winning a first title since the inaugural Brazilian championship in 1971 will not take priority for Levir Culpi’s side.

“Last year will didn’t prioritise any one competition and were champions of the Copa do Brasil,” he said. “In the Brasileirāo we fought until the end but Cruzeiro opened up too big a gap. So, here at Galo we don’t prioritise one over the other.

“Against Figueirense there will be two difficult games, playing there is tough. We have lots of work to do. I hope that we play well in both games and pass to the next round,” he added.
