New Flamengo signing Ederson has spoken of his pride at the chance to wear the same Flamengo number 10 shirt which was worn by the legendary Zico.
The attacking midfielder has signed for two years in Rio after a difficult season with Lazio where he played just five games. The former Lyon man will likely play in an attacking position, just behind strikers and fellow new signings Paolo Guerrero and Emerson Sheik.
And the 29-year-old took to Twitter to thank the Lazio fans and to declare his joy on moving to Flamengo.
He wrote: ‘I’m off to a new adventure, I’m going to return so many years after leaving my country. I will wear the same number 10 of Flamengo that Zico, a mythical player, was wearing when I was young.”
