Four years after signing for Arsenal from Fluminense, Wellington Silva could finally make his Gunners debut next season after being granted Spanish citizenship.

The 22-year-old was unable to obtain a work permit when he first signed and has thus spent four years on loan to various Spanish sides in order to gain Spanish citizenship.

Now that he is a European citizen, the attacker hopes to be drafted into the Arsenal squad next year, but says he has offers on the table should those hopes not materialise.

He told ESPN: “Now I hope to show my potential. Of course I want to stay at Arsenal, but if I have to find new employment it will not be a problem.

“There are two English teams that have already spoken to my agent, so I have these two options. I’d like to play In England now, even if it’s not for Arsenal, in order to learn the style of play there and become accustomed to the Premier League and the colder climate.”
