Internacional moved into the semi finals of the Gaucho after a superb comeback win against Cruziero on Thursday.
It looked as if Cruzeiro were cruising through as they held a two goal lead with twenty minutes remaining. But Lisandro Lopez came on for Nilmar and on 77 minutes he pulled a goal back from the penalty spot. Four minutes later the same player equalised with a sweet finish.
Internacional eventually prevailed 3-1 on penalties and Lopez was glad to be back from injury and amongst the goals.
“I came here to work and try to convince the coach and show him what I can do. That’s my goal, I want to hold.”
