Despite losing several top players this year Cruzeiro have been able to count on close-season signing Leandro Damião to produce the goods when needed.
After just 14 games in the blue of the Raposa Damião has equalled his goal total from the whole of last season in which he played 44 games for Santos.
Powerful striker Damião was one of Brazilian football’s hottest at previous club Internacional but lost his way after moving to Santos, so he will be delighted to be back on form and to have plundered 11 games and 4 assists at such an early stage of the season for Cruzeiro.
