Anderson made his debut for Internacional last night and then promptly missed a penalty.

The Manchester United flop was introduced in the second half of Inter’s 0-0 draw against Cruzeiro in the fourth round of the Gauchão. In the 74th minute he stepped up to take a penalty which would have given his team three points. But Cruzeiro keeper Bruno Gassi lept to his right to pull off a magnificent save.

Anderson recently signed a four year contract with Interncaional after he cancelled his deal with Manchester United. The 26 year old is eager to get his career back on track and thanked Manchester United despite his lack of chances.

“I’m coming back to Porto Alegre because Inter went after me. The president gave me attention. I was training but not playing. I played for eight years for Manchester. I would like to thank the club. In my first four years I won lots of titles.”
