Fernandinho displayed his defensive midfield qualities on Saturday but could not help Manchester City pick up more than a point away at Chelsea.

The Brazilian put in more tackles than any other Premier League player this week with seven in total. This restricted Chelsea to very few attacks in the 1-1 draw.

Loïc Rémy put Chelsea one goal up before David Silva equalised for City just before half time. The second half was one way traffic as City’s attack came up against a dogged Chelsea defence.

Manuel Pellegrini was left frustrated as Chelsea held out comfortably to remain five points clear at the top.
