Brazilian champions Cruzeiro tried to sign Chilean left-back Mena from Santos.
According to Lance!, Cruzeiro wanted to take Mena on loan but Santos have turned down the offer because they only intend to sell him permanently. Santos signed Mena in 2013 and own 50% of rights with the remaining held by third-part group Teisa. Mena lost his place in the team towards the latter stages of last season to Zeca and Caju.
He has a contract with Santos until 2017.
