Umbro have been confirmed as the new kit sponsor for Grêmio.

The British sportswear and football equipment supplier, which is based in Manchester, will provide both the playing and training kits until 2018.

“We know the history and grandeur of Grêmio and we are confident that this partnership will be a milestone in our operations in Brazil,” said Umbro Brazil Sports Marketing Manager Eduardo Dal Pogetto, as reported by website SportsPro.

Umbro already sponsor Brasileirão outfits Atlético Paranaense, Chapecoense and Vasco da Gama, while Bahia and various other Brazilian clubs are in their portfolio.

Around the world, numerous teams from the Americas, Africa, Asia and Europe, including the likes of Everton, Al-Ahli S.F.C, Colón and LDU Quito, are also sponsored by Umbro.

For Grêmio, this deal sees them move away from Brazilian-based sportswear brand Topper, who supplied their sports equipment from 2011 until the end of the 2014 season.

Umbro’s new kit for the 2015 campaign is expected to be unveiled on 8th January.
