Spain: Jonathan strikes again.

Jonathan struck his seventh goal of the season for Elche but was unable to prevent his side losing 2-1 to Villarreal. The result moves Villarreal up to sixth while Elche stay bottom.

Portugal: Porto smash Gil Vicente

Young defensive midfiedler Casemiro struck his second goal of the season to open the floodgates for Porto against Gil Vicente. The 22 year old broke the deadlock in the 36th minute with a fierce strike which left the keeper with no chance. Porto went on to win 5-1.
There were two Brazilians on the scoresheet in Maritimo’s 2-1 win at home against Braga. Danilo opened the scoring for the away side but Maritimo fought back and Bruno Gallo scored the winning goal in the 54th minute.

Benfica maintained their six point lead at the top of the table with a 3-0 win away at Penafiel. Anderson Talisca opened the scoring in the 37th minute before Jonas and Jardel sealed the three points with goals in the second half.
