Internazionale wing-back Jonathan Moreira is delighted to have returned to full fitness.

The 28 year-old last featured in a 2-0 win over Atalanta in September due to injury, but returned to play just over half an hour as Inter lost 1-0 to Paris Saint-Germain in a friendly on Tuesday.

“It’s a great joy to be back playing, it was like making my Inter debut again,” he told Inter Channel, as reported by website Football Italia.

“I had to regain my confidence and my form. The coaching team know that I’m available.”

Jonathan came to prominence playing at right wing-back last season and managed three goals and four assists in 31 appearances under then Head Coach Walter Mazzarri.

Now, however, Jonathan is playing for Roberto Mancini, who prefers to use a back four without wing-backs.

Despite this change, the Brazilian is confident that he can still be useful.

“My preference is to play right wing-back, but the Coach knows he can use me wherever I’m needed,” he continued.

“I was pleased to play against such a great team, we didn’t do badly and could even have scored some goals, but the ball just didn’t want to go in.”

Jonathan was signed by Inter from Santos for a reported fee of €5 million in July 2011. He had won the 2011 Campeonato Paulista and Copa Libertadores with Santos and previously lifted three Campeonato Mineiro titles at Cruzeiro, but struggled to initially make an impact at Inter and was loaned to Parma in January 2012. He returned to Inter for the 2012/13 campaign and showed improvement under Andrea Stramaccioni and subsequently Mazzarri.
