Veteran goalkeeper Rogério Ceni has stated that he might retire in 2015.

The legendary São Paulo goalkeeper is approaching his 42nd birthday but still looks in great shape. He made 63 appearances in the 2014 season.

“I asked, before renewing the contract, the board of São Paulo what their interest was, if it was for my past or what I could provide in the future. The response was what I could do in the future.”

Before he retires Ceni wants one more crack at winning the Copa Libertadores. He hinted that the day he retires depends on when São Paulo exit the compertition. If they win it he wants to extend his playing days even further to participate in another Club World Cup.

“My contract runs until August 6, 2015, and is conditioned on our achievement in the Libertadores. For me it would be a great pleasure (to be champion), even knowing the difficulties that exist to win a championship like this. It would be a pleasure to contend for a Club World Cup again.”
