Zenit Saint Petersburg have backed Hulk after the player recently accused a referee of racism in their game against FC Mordovia.
Referee Alexei Matyunin was accused of saying, “I don"t like you, along with any other black people."
Matyunin denies the incident ever took place but Zenit manager André Villas-Boas supported the player"s claims,
“I have no doubt what he [Hulk] told me is true, I could see the disappointment in his face. What the referee said is totally unaccetable. I support my player 100%."
Referee Matyunin has threatened legal action after labelling the claims as “lies and stupidity."
