Rogerio Ceni has played down his achievement after beating Ryan Giggs’ Guiness world record of most wins at a single club.
The legendary Sao Paulo goalkeeper took his career tally up to 590 wins after fittingly keeping a clean sheet in their 3-0 triumph over Goias on Monday evening.
The appearance saw him overtake Giggs, who won 589 times with Manchester United, but the shot-stopper refused to talk up the new record.
He said: ‘These individual tags are very cool but it is nothing but work, day to day. I am like any human being who marks 20 years in the same place.
‘The hard part is staying in the same place for so long, I thank God for allowing me to do this.’
