Vasco da Gama have completed the signing of Uruguayan midfielder Maxi Rodriguez from top division side Gremio until the end of the current Brazilian domestic campaign.
The Rio de Janeiro club have strengthened their promotion push ahead of their game with top-of-the-table Ceara this evening, but Rodriguez will not be registered in time to take any part in the match.
The 23 year-old joined Gremio a year ago and has represented his country five times at under-23 level.
Vasco are attempting to return to Serie A at the first time of asking after suffering the ognomity of relegation last term, and have put together a run of three straight league wins to sit only three points behind today’s opponents.
