Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho is hoping to use the experience he picked up in the 2014 World Cup to help the club achieve glory this season.

The Brazilian midfielder was part of the Brazil team that ended the tournament in catastrophic fashion with 7-1 and 3-0 defeats to Germany and the Netherlands respectively.

The former Corinthians ace has returned to first team training now after recuperating following the World Cup campaign and is hoping Spurs have a good season.

Paulinho spoke to the official club website, he said: “I’ve been back for just over one week and I feel good.

“I still have to train a little bit more with the squad and I’m not at 100 per cent yet, but it’s going well. It’s very good to see my team-mates again and I hope this season we can be better.”

The 26-year-old then discussed his experience with Brazil during the summer and admits he’ll use that to help Tottenham win lots of matches this season.

“It was a good experience for me at the World Cup,” Paulinho added.

“Now I have to think about the club and about the season ahead. We have to try to win more games.

“I’ll try to tell my friends and team-mates about my experiences in Brazil so that maybe it will help the group and help the team as we try to win a lot of matches this season.”
