Arsenal and Spurs to battle it out for Brazil star Douglas Costa
The north London clubs are thought to be interested in the Shakhtar Donetsk striker but will need to stump up £40million if they want to sign him, reports the Daily Express.
Douglas Costa joined the Ukrainian side from Grêmio for £4.7million in 2010 but is reportedly unsettled as the current conflict destabilises the region around where the club is based.
He was part of Brazil's successful South American Youth Championship side in 2009 is believed to be keen on a move to the English capital.
Shakhtar, however, have slapped a huge price-tag on their star man.
The club’s CEO, Sergei Palkin, told the club’s website that no offers had yet been received and that any team wanting to secure Costa's services would have to meet his release clause of £40million.
"Everyone says that Costa's goodbye is close, but the club has not received any proposals and his buyout clause is €50million," he said.
