With Germany international Sami Khedira destined to leave to Bernabeu this summer, the Spanish giants have identified Brazilian midfielder Luiz Gustavo as a possible replacement, according to Spanish publication El Confidencial.
After flatly refusing to extend a contract with Real Madrid that runs out next summer, Sami Khedira’s future has become the subject of increasing speculation, with both Arsenal and Chelsea linked with a £25 million deal.
The Spanish source has suggested that Los Blancos have already made a tentative enquiry to Wolfsburg about the possibility of signing Brazil international Luiz Gustavo as Khedira’s replacement.
Gustavo will not come cheap, however. A hefty release clause of €33m has so far been enough to put Manchester United off the former Bayern Munich enforcer this summer.
