With 25 points, Cruzeiro are five points clear of their closest rival Corinthians. Figueirense, meanwhile, are desperate to pick up points that will take them out of the relegation zone.

The current champions are expected to make just one change to the team that beat Palmeiras at the Pacaembu last time out, with Dedé, having recovered from a knee injury, to come in for Manoel.

For Figueirense manager Argel Fucks, the game represents his first game in charge of his second spell at the club. Currently sitting 18th in the league table, the Santa Catarina side are expected to focus on containing their opponents and using counter-attacks to explore opportunities.
