Neymar has insisted he will do all he can to make sure he is leading Brazil into the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Brazil’s dream of adding a sixth World Cup title ended on Tuesday and in humiliating fashion as Germany defeated them 7-1 in the semi-final at Belo Horizonte.

The Barcelona forward was unavailable through injury but will be working hard to ensure he is back to his best soon.

Globo Esporte quoted the 22-year-old, he said: “I want more. If I workout today and tomorrow, I want to train better.

“I’ll have to train hard, dedicate myself and do everything I can for the next four years to be in a World Cup again.

“We failed, yes. We lost. But that’s what I said, is part of football.”

Neymar again praised his team mates for continuing to work hard on Tuesday against Germany, even when 7-1 down.

He added: “We did not want to lose that way. At least they ran, even losing 7.

“They ran like men. And that is why I am proud of them all. They are people that I will admire even more.”

Brazil and Barcelona fans will hope Neymar is back to full fitness soon and firing in the goals again.
