Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva could be set for a move to Napoli according to president of the Italian club Aurelio Del Laurentiis.

Globo quoted the Napoli president, who believes a deal with the Brazilian midfielder could take place.

De Laurentiis said: “We are quiet, Benítez gives me peace of mind, we are aligned from the first meeting.

“Can we get Swansea striker Michu and Lucas Leiva? We are preparing some contracts.

“I still want to bring someone. Perhaps there is a third name coming as well.”

The English media believe Liverpool are willingly to allow the 27-year-old to exit Anfield in order to raise funds for other transfers but Napoli are interested in signing the Brazilian on loan, that could still change.

It would mean after seven years in the Premier League, Lucas Leiva could be set to leave.

Starting regularly could boost Lucas Leiva’s chances of regaining his spot in the Brazil squad and a move to Italy could be perfect for all parties.
