Argentina superstar Lionel Messi has revealed his joy at La Albiceleste reaching the final of the 2014 World Cup.
Alejandro Sabella’s side overcame the Netherlands 4-2 on penalties after neither team could score in 120 minutes of football on Wednesday night.
The Barcelona legend took to his social media page after the semi-final to reveal his delight at reaching the World Cup final.
AS English quoted the 27-year-old, he said: “I had to go through doping and I couldn’t experience the moment in the dressing room.
“I’m so proud to be part of this side. They’re incredible, what a game!
“We are in the final! We will enjoy… We have one more step.”
Messi concluded by paying tribute to journalist Topo López who passed away yesterday.
He added: “A big hug to all of Argentina and a special memory for Jorge ‘Topo’ López, this win was especially for you, friend. A big hug to all the family.”
