Former Brazil international Kaka says that he believes in the potency of current national strikers Fred and Jo, ahead of their second round game with Chile later on this afternoon.

The ex-Real Madrid and AC Milan playmaker, who has been linked with a move back to his homeland with Sao Paulo, told reporters: “Those two, Romario and Ronaldo, are from a different level, but Fred and Jo are not bad.”

“Fred has had a slow start to the World Cup but he picked it up in the last game. Rememeber Fred had a great 2013 Confederations Cup. Later in the tournament, I think he will be a very imprtant player for us.”

When asked about the comparison with Chile’s team of 2010, who were knocked out by Brazil, Kaka added: “Chile is a very different team to the one in South Africa. A lot more of their squad are playing in Europe and they have a lot of experienced players.”

The game kicks off today at 1700 BST, and you can follow our live text service right here on Sambafoot from an hour before the action starts.
