The defender is dreaming of taking on the armband for his club, according to Goal.com in Brazil.

After Carles Puyol’s retirement and Xavi’s probable departure, the Barcelona captaincy is set to be up for grabs this summer.

Alves said: “It would be an honor for me to be captain of Barcelona. Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta are the most experienced in the group, and then me and Gerard Piqué. Let’s see, it would be a true honour being captain of a big club.”
