Ahead of tonight’s Group A match against Cameroon, Paris Saint-Germain defender David Luiz has revealed his desperation to score for his country.

The former Chelsea man has yet to find the net for Brazil but would love to become one of few defenders to achieve the feat in a World Cup.

Daily Star quoted the 27-year-old, he said: “When you taste the same food every day, you get bored.

“But when you have the opportunity to taste something different, it is always a special taste.

“A defender is there to destroy. But defenders also have chances to score from free kicks and corners.

“I still have no idea what it feels like to score, but I’m sure God is just waiting for the right time for me.”

Luiz Felipe Scolari and co will hope the right time could be early tonight as Brazil would love to go ahead against Cameroon early and let confidence breed.

After two lackluster displays against Croatia and Mexico, Brazil will be aiming to dazzle their fans tonight.

Tonight’s game in Brasilia will be accompanied by Sambafoot’s live text commentary from 2000 GMT, as well as analysis and comment before and after the match has been played.
