Luiz Gustavo linked with move to Manchester UnitedGustavo has won 21 caps for Brazil
Incoming Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has made Brazil midfielder Luiz Gustavo one of his major transfer targets this summer, according to reports in the English media.
The Daily Mirror have suggested that Wolfsburg's Gustavo would be tempted to join a major European outfir after missing out on Champions League qualification last term.
Although United couldn't offer that immediately, it would be expected that this would be remidied by van Gaal in his first season in charge at the English side.
Gustavo would add some much-needed steel into the heart of the three-time European champions after a barren season in which they removed manager David Moyes from his five-year deal as boss.
Wolfsburg fought hard to sign the Brazil international last summer after he was allowed to leave Bayern Munich and will be holding out for a large transfer fee should they agree to his departure after the World Cup finishes.
