Brazil head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari admits that he dreams of a World Cup final against Portugal this summer as he has such an affinity with the country he used to manage.

Big Phil was in charge of the Europeans between 2003 and 2008, guiding them to the final of the Euros in 2004 and the semi-finals of the World Cup in Germany two years after.

And Scolari, who still has family in the country, told reporters: “It is the perfect final. Whoever’s better prepared, may the better team win!”

“Why? Because it’s where I created lifelong ties, where I have got great friends and where I experienced some of the greatest moments of my life.”

“Also, because there are at least nine players in the Portuguese national team from my time as trainer, although some have criticised me for not intriducing new players.”
