Chelsea midfielder Willian is looking forward to June 12 for two reasons. The first will be representing his country in a World Cup, if selected of course, and the second will be playing at Arena Corinthians.

The playmaker was quoted by Globo today and revealed that he always dreamed of wearing the national team jersey in Corinthians stadium.

The 25-year-old said: “I’ll be able to play at the stadium of the club where I grew up, where I lived a long time in my life, I have great affection for it.

“To wear the national team and play in the Corinthians stadium will be a wonderful thing for me.”

Although Willian isn’t guaranteed to play, it does seem likely that he will at least feature from the bench.

The Chelsea man was quick to shun suggestions that he was starting, though, and insisted that Luiz Felipe Scolari will know what to expect from him, should he be picked.

Willian concluded: “Everyone knows my style of play. I like to create, dribble, pluck, but who will decide is always Scolari.”
