Roma defender Dodô came off injured last Friday during the clubs friendly match against Orlando City but tests have confirmed the youngster hasn’t suffered a serious injury.
It was initially feared that the 22-year-old may have suffered ligament damage, however a statement released on the official club website refuted those claims.
Football Italia reported the statement, it read: “This morning Dodô underwent specialist medical examinations that were performed by Prof. Cerulli at the Policlinico Gemelli, revealing a sprain to his left knee.
“At the moment the condition is not such as to require surgery. The situation will be monitored over the next 7 to 10 days with further medical checks to be carried out.”
An initial positive prognosis for the Brazilian and one which should allay any fears that he may have suffered a long term injury. Dodô will hope that the further tests confirm no lasting damage to his knee.
