PSG’s young Brazilian defender Marquinhos has issued a ‘come and get me’ plea to suitors including Barcelona as his current club edge closer to making Chelsea’s David Luiz part of their ranks.
Marquinhos, 20, only moved to France last summer from AS Roma and had been primed to take over from Alex as captain Thiago Silva’s central defensive partner after the summer recess.
However, a move for Luiz would appear to signal that Marquinhos will remain as a third choice pick and he told le Parisien: “If Barca is interested in me then obviously that is something nice!”
“It’s flattering because Barcelona is a club that has won all the tournaments in the world. Other than that, I can not say anything else about Barca.”
“I have a contract that goes until June 2018. I will talk with the club and my agent about my future because this is a very important seaon for me.”
