Neymar signing damaged Barcelona's 'financial stability'
Barcelona's vice-president Carles Villarubi has told the media that the club had not budgeted for buying the Brazilian last year.
The Catalans paid an estimated €87.2 million for Neymar to ensure that their La Liga rivals, Real Madrid, did not beat them to the former Santos striker's signature.
Villarrubi said: “The club signed a pre-agreement for Neymar to join the following season [2014-15].
"Pressure from another club led us to sign him a year earlier. This fact has affected the club's financial stability."
