Alan Kardec has signed a permanent deal with Sao Paulo after impressing greatly whilst on loan at rivals Palmeiras from Portuguese club Benfica this term.

The 25 year-old former Brazilian youth international had widely been expected to make his loan move a full time one, but Tricolor were quick to act after believing they could grab a deal for the World Cup wannabe.

Kardec will move to Sao Paulo for €4.5 milion according to reports on esporte.uol.com and will add to an already stellar attacking arsenal of Alexandre Pato, Luis Fabiano, Ademilson and playmaker Paulo Henrique Ganso.

A joint top scorer in the recent Paulista state championship, alongside Fabiano with nine goals to his credit, Kardec will hope to top off an excellent year with an admittedly unlikely call up to Luiz Felipe Scolari’s World Cup squad.
